Consolidating EPC/MT (or is it MT/EPC)

Posted Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 5:09 PM

If you'll notice, the poll question on our front has to do with EPC and Marked Tree consolidating. The thought of such a thing to some is tantamount to mass murder. To others, however, it makes perfect sense.

Personally, being from neither town I can see the point of both sides. Regardless ow what happens, like most big decisions involving a large number of people, it will not make everyone 100% happy.

If they did consolidate, it would make it easier from a newspaper point of view because I would then only have one (probably) big 3A or small 4A school to cover instead of two 2A schools.

Plus if they combined, they would get more local exposure from both their increased size as well as the fact they would be playing Jonesboro schools.

Anyway, whatever happens, happens and I'll cover it appropriately. But vote in the poll and if you have a comment let me know.

Bye for now.

Is there rumor or speculation that Marked Tree and EPC will be consolidating? If so, from the student's point of view, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! That would be a disaster waiting to happen. The two school are rivals apart from eachother and putting them together is just plain ignorant!
