Introducing the Democrat Tribune
Posted Thursday, June 25, at 8:01 PM
July 1st brings in a new chapter for our newspapers. The next edition of the newspaper you'll hold in your hand will be the Poinsett County Democrat Tribune.
For advertisers this means your ad will no longer be confined to a portion of Poinsett County, but will reach all of it! If you've been considering marketing your business in the western part of the county, you will now have open access to all those potential clients! As the Democrat Tribune emerges, I'll be out in the communities visiting businesses and sharing the word about our newest endeavor. Being a Poinsett County wide paper makes us larger, stronger and thus a more marketable tool for businesses wanting to promote their name in the communities. Not only will our readership expand, but we are working on making our circulation even better by distributing newsstands across the county and implementing strategies to encourage larger readership. We will still be your hometown newspaper. Now we will be even more!
Coming Soon: Poinsett County Community Guide What makes Poinsett County a special place to live, visit and experience life changing moments? We're hoping to provide an answer. Slated for late July, Delta Publishing will create a Poinsett County Community Guide. This slick, full color magazine could land in the hands of those planning vacations, looking for a fresh place to start a family and even reach those seeking a place to hang their hat and retire...

Rays of hope in economic stress Staycation. As the summer draws to close, "staycation" has been the buzzword of the season. While gas prices remain high and houses foreclose, our checkbooks stay close to our side. And instead of the anticipated extravagant summer getaways, people stayed close to home and saved money...
Hitting the bull's eye. Recently I purchased the infamous Nintendo Wii. The game play is different than any other system made and the social climate it creates makes it the hottest selling console available. One thing my wife and I love playing is a dart game. Frustratingly we try to use the Wii remote to throw our darts as close as possible to the bull's eye. Then after five sets of darts, one of us gets to gloat about being the closest to the bull's eye...
Advertising in Adversity I know your predisposition while reading this: in the end all he really wants is my money. I'll have to admit, I would appreciate your business, but honestly my larger goal is to help you survive these difficult times. I've never managed a business (or at least have not been officially paid for it), but I have worked for several small businesses and know one thing without a doubt: if you want to succeed, people have to know you're there. ...
Financial Help for Advertising In today's business world, there's at least one fact dominating the market: money's tight. When I was younger I applied as an account manager for a local rent-to-own store. My job was to ensure that people paid their bills on time and hopefully in full. The owner said to me, "Some people only have a little money and it has to spread out. We want to ensure that we're covered in that spread."...
