Trumann Water and SewerPosted Friday, April 10, 2009, at 4:46 PM
You truly never now how much you rely on something until you don't have it.
Luckily that hasn't been our case in Trumann so far. I was reading an article which stated "In 2006, waterborne diseases were estimated to cause 1.8 million deaths each year while about 1.1 billion people lacked proper drinking water." It made me realize how truly lucky we were to have quality drinking water available to us in Trumann. In the past months I've seen my share of people complaining about the water and sewer department. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but working in a field myself where opinions tend to travel south, I appreciate a compliment when I receive one. So I thought I'd take my time to write and tell Scotty Jones and the guys at the water department that I appreciate their hard work. When the icestorm came several in our community(myself included) were without power and heat. I sat as the days turned into a weeks. I watched the news as community after community was forced to boil their drinking water. The guys at Trumann Water and Sewer worked very hard to keep our water supply drinkable. I was very appreciative they were able to help us keep a bit of normality in our day to day lives. In a less severe example, my family and I went to Florida for a week. The entire stay I had to drink bottled water. The water in our hotel and the parks we visited had the most horrible taste. I would have rather drank water from the old well than drank their "city water". It was horrible smelling and tasting. I was so happy to get back to Trumann and to the taste of our water. Anyway, I just thought I'd give my gratitude to the Trumann Water and Sewer department for all the hard work. No water is like Trumann water in my opinion. I truly appreciate the work that goes in to maintaining the quality of our drinking water. Thanks Guys! Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Well I will say you did OK! But as far as other things such as charging outragious cost on the bills that you had to make adjustment later on , it wasn't a good thing ,your very fast at asking for higher taxes, but slow on customer Needs
so,of that in mind I would not go prasing yourself ,and department for that, sounds like self pride, and acting as if it wasn't your jobs in the first place. thats what your employees are suppose to be doing for our tax dollars.
Actually, I work for the Police Department. I do not work or have any affiliation with the Water and Sewer department. Well, other than the fact that I use the water and sewer. I also pay my bills monthly just like everyone else. It's actually MY PERSONAL praise for the water and sewer department. It's not self pride, praising myself or my department.
Although, being the biased police employee I am, I would praise the hard work and effort all our guys put forth to keep the city and its residents safe.
Good Job to the TPD guys too! ;)
