Hello Class of 1988 & other classes. Our class recently celebrated our 20th reunion & we had a great time. We thought it sad that we might not see each other again for 10 yrs so we decided to get together @ the Oct 24th homecoming football game, tailgate & have a great time celebrating our years at THS. I issue a challenge for all other alumni to host a tailgate party of your own & catch up with old friends from other classes. Hope to see u there!!!! GO WILDCATS!!!!

-- Posted by Hollie Stevens on Wed, Jul 30, 2008, at 9:35 AM

Funny you said that Hollie. I am getting with others to try to set up a "Sweet 16" reunion for the class of 1992. Thinking a tailgate party before the game would be awesome.

I hope lots of classes will participate, it should be FUN!!!!

If anyone that reads this link knows Charles Cook or Frank Rowlett can you let me know how to contact them?

-- Posted by buckeye razorback on Fri, Aug 1, 2008, at 9:00 PM

Hey Marvin,

It's been many years now. Where do you live and how are you? Frank is my first cousin and he lives in Salem, Ar. His number is listed under James F. Rowlett. The last I heard Charles Cook is in or near Walnut Ridge, Ar. He still has brothers in Trumann.

speaking of a clean up day around town.I don't see what it would help,it looks like some parts of Trumann was bound to be junked up, here in the temple add. behind the bank of trumann there are limbs still left from before the big windstorm so what good is it to have a clean up day.

It was nice finding this site. I attended Trumann Schools until the fall of 1965. My graduating class would have been the class of 1969. I would like to hear from any of those classmates if they are so inclined. My name is Ron Beegle and I live in Charlotte, Michigan. Just wanted to chat with some former classmates.

-- Posted by beegler on Fri, Oct 17, 2008, at 1:42 PM

Lacey, I have two children of my own. My son is 16 & my daughter is 10.

Paul & Jill, I remember you also. We were in a few classes together.

-- Posted by Sherry Ainsworth (Renshaw) on Mon, Oct 20, 2008, at 6:16 PM

I remember you Sherry. We had Mrs. Swain together I think it was our senior year. Her classes were always fun.

-- Posted by Jill Dye on Mon, Oct 20, 2008, at 9:49 PM

I think I was a mean girl back then. Most of my classmates probably didn't like me . I apologize for that, I had a lot of issues w/my family during that time.

-- Posted by Sherry Ainsworth (Renshaw) on Wed, Oct 22, 2008, at 7:47 PM

I liked you Sherry! Now I didnt want to mess with you in fear of you beating me up. But I still liked you.LOL

-- Posted by paullan75 on Thu, Oct 23, 2008, at 7:27 AM

I never had any problems with you, I always thought you were fun to be around.

-- Posted by Jill Dye on Thu, Oct 23, 2008, at 10:25 AM

I was in the old high school building in the 7th and 8th grades.(way back 1944?) Wonder if anyone is still around from that class.

My name is Scott Kimball and we lived across the street from the school.

-- Posted by k1053 on Fri, Oct 24, 2008, at 2:00 PM

Are there any Trumann Alumni of the class of 1969 who reads the articles on this site? Just wondering if any old class mates read this.

-- Posted by beegler on Tue, Oct 28, 2008, at 11:40 AM

Thanks Paul & Jill. Paul, I was more hype than bite back then.

-- Posted by Sherry Ainsworth (Renshaw) on Thu, Oct 30, 2008, at 4:13 PM

Well Sherry it is good to hear from you. Where do you live now?

-- Posted by paullan75 on Fri, Oct 31, 2008, at 9:12 AM

Ellijay Georgia about 70 miles north of Atlanta in the Mountains. When my mom died in 95 I moved. I lived in Mississippi first, then about eight years ago I moved to Georgia. I haven't seen or spoken to my other family members for years. My son John lives in Trumann with his father right now. He is sixteen already. I want him to live with me but apparently he likes it there. Schools here are larger & more difficult. So, what have you been doing with yourself all this time? What took you to kansas?

-- Posted by Sherry Ainsworth (Renshaw) on Sat, Nov 1, 2008, at 8:10 PM

paul that last sentence was incorrect, sorry for the grammar error.....i guess i didn't learn anything from mrs. richardson

-- Posted by Sherry Ainsworth (Renshaw) on Sat, Nov 1, 2008, at 8:14 PM

The Air Force brought me here and then I met my wife so we stayed. We have 3 children. I am in avionics engineering at Cessna Aircraft.

Beegler: I try to read the on line Democrat every week and usually read the alumni blogs but I must of missed yours. Yes there are at least 2 of us from the class of 69 who read them. My name is Malcolm I live in Fort Worth.

-- Posted by mspauldingsr@yahoo.com on Sun, Jan 18, 2009, at 8:32 AM

Beegler, I saw your post today and wanted to say I remember you. Just for fun read this and see if you can figure out who I am. I'm from the class of '68. You were friends with Jimmy Banks, [my high school sweetheart] David Foley, Sammy Davis, and Jimmy Swinford. I was friends with all of those guys and Mary Gann, Sarah Steele, Florence Turner, Carol Lee and Patti Sims. We had a lot of fun back then. It was good to hear from you, I remembered your family moved up north, I just thought it was later than '65. I got a call from Roger Treece several years ago. He lives in somewhere in Michigan too, I think.

I still see every one I mentioned above except for Patti and Jimmy Swinford, who live in the Blytheville area, but I hear about them from family members occasionally.

David Foley past a way about 4 years ago. I still see his brother Gary. He is Sarah Steel Carr's nephew.

Your class should have a reunion this year, that will be fun. The class of '68 just did'nt get around to it for the 35th or the 40th. But, we sure had some great get togethers for all the others. We do plan on doing something during the alumni event in Sept. or Oct. It will be fun to see everyone there from all the classes.

You have probably been trying to figure out who is just now responding to a post you made back in Oct. But, I just read it and wanted to say Hi, and let you know there are some of us old hippies from the sixty's still around. Please don't wait 6 month to respond to me.

Your friend,

Alice Clayton Harrison

Marvin Simpson, I have not heard from you since grade school in Trumann. I sold Trumann Democrats through high school and college, along with many other part time jobs. My sister, Carolyn and my brother,Dale also worked for the Democrat. We all three graduated from Trumann and ASU

We have been lucky, I loved growing up in Trumann. My Dad was with the Western Auto 55 years and he was volunteer fire chief for many years and my Wife, Becky's dad sold Fords for Wood Ford. We have lost our parents and and now we are the old people. I can remember you and me and Ronnie Haynes and Thomas Worley playing play ground ball at the Trumann Elementary, life was simple and fun. I did not even know we were poor till I took a sociology course in college. I hope your life is good and you are in good health. God bless you and your family.
