Sorry for my absence the last few months but things have been busy! We have so much going on around here -- we have new exhibits at the Museum and we are working with the Sunken Lands Regional Chamber of Commerce on several projects.

The Marked Tree Delta Area Museum is still working on the Lost Communities project, so if you grew up on the "Northern" (Northern Ohio Community), Joyland, Boat Run, at Spear Lake, Black Oak, Harrisburg Corner, Weona or Anderson Tully give me a call and we'll get your memories recorded. Also, if you have pictures of these areas we would like to copy them for the Museum's collection.

Also the Museum is looking for memorabilia from the Marked Tree Schools. If you have anything you would like to donate or photographs we can copy just let me know -- you can reach me at 870-358-4998 or sooziw@eritter.net -- so check out those boxes in the attic and give me a call!

I hope you read the article in the Democrat Tribune this week about the Sunken Lands Regional Chamber of Commerce. The projects we mentioned, geo-caching and way-marking, are activities that are fun for the entire family to do together and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! You go at your own pace and enjoy discovering new things in your own backyard -- the Sunken Lands Region.

And if you and your family enjoy bike riding we will be taking off from the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum in Tyronza at 10:00am on November 7th to "Tour de Sunken Lands". The bike ride has several routes, depending on how far you want to ride. Refreshments will be provided at the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum in Tyronza, the Painted House in Lepanto, Whitton Farms in Whitton, and the Marked Tree Delta Area Museum in Marked Tree. Onsite registration will start at 9:00am at the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum -- site for the start and finish of the ride. If you want to pre-register you can find the Entry Form at sunkenlands.org the Sunken Lands Regional Chamber of Commerce website.
