New Year's Resolution-NO RESOLUTION!
Posted Wednesday, January 7, at 10:49 AM
Okay, so I know everyone wants to lose weight, get in shape, get a "six pack", look the way you did when you were 17, and so on and so on. Well, I myself said NO RESOLUTIONS THIS YEAR! I refuse to use the d word, that is diet. I choose this year to change my way of living. No more junk food, fruits instead. It's a way of life, and no matter how corny it sounds, anyone can lose weight and get in shape. Don't know if I can help you look 17 again, but we can try, can't we? This is my personal food list, what I buy at Wal-Mart and before I injured my knee in September, I lost 48 pounds following this menu. I did cardio about 4 times a week, usually walking or riding the stationery bike, and I also worked out 3-4 times a week. At least 64 ounces of water a day. I started my healthy way of living today, January 5th, 2009, and will keep you posted on my progress. So here ya go! Happy Eating! And always remember that you are the one in charge of your own happiness! :)

Jinger's Food List

1.Protein- 7 servings a day. I usually eat an egg in the morning, 3 oz of chicken, tuna, or fish for lunch, and 3 oz for dinner. I never eat red meat, unless a special occasion. It takes longer to digest, and isn't as good for you as fish or chicken. I buy the big box of Tilapia, or packages of Salmon from Wal-Mart. I also buy boneless, skinless turkey and or chicken breasts.

2.Vegetables- 5 a day. I buy Bird's Eye Steam Fresh at Wal-Mart (1.78 a bag). I buy broccoli, cauliflower, and mixed vegetables. Just watch the carbs. I never buy the ones with corn in them. I also buy Green Giant little boxes of frozen veggies. Some are called Healthy Vision, and some are called Immunity Boost. Those are my personal faves! I'm pretty burnt out on salad, and canned veggies do not taste as good as the steamed.

3.Starch- 2 a day. Right next to the frozen veggies are bags of rice that you can cook the same way in the microwave. I buy brown rice. You can buy the Success Boil-In-Bag Brown Rice also. For bread, I always buy the 100% whole grain wheat bread. If it doesn't say 100% whole grain, don't buy it! It is just bleached white flour, such as the Wonder 40 calorie wheat bread. Must be whole grains. I try to stay away from pasta, but if I must, I buy whole grain wheat pasta. It's pretty good. Sweet potatoes are best if you have a potato craving. Add some splenda and cinnamon, and Voila! You've got yourself an awesome treat. (I am such a dork!)

4.Fruits- 2 a day. Bananas and grapes are the two fruits that have the most sugar in them. Try eating peaches, nectarines, pears are good, apples, and especially grapefruit. Just remember half a large grapefruit equals one serving.

5.Dairy- 2/3 a day. Depends on how hungry you are. I am supposed to eat three, but sometimes only eat two. Buy the Great Value Brand yogurt that has just 80 calories, they are 40 cents and they are the lowest in carbs and sugar and the cheapest! Sometimes, I'll drink ˝ a cup of 2% milk, or I love cottage cheese too. Cottage cheese and fruit make a good afternoon snack. I should write a dang book.

6.Fat- 2 a day. This gets tricky. I eat mayo in my tuna, REAL salad dressing, or butter on my toast in the morning. A must have in my kitchen is the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray. I spray it on everything.

7.Optionals- 10 calorie Jell-o. I buy like, three different flavors over by the yogurt so I can bring them to work. Also, sometimes I buy the sugar free whipped topping in the can and count that as my fat and use it on Jell-o.

I hope this helps!

The other day I was talking to someone at work and in mid-sentence they said stop, I have a text. WHAT? On my myspace page, I have already vented about this, but I feel the need to vent about texting again. Why was it invented? I mean, I know to make money of course, but isnˇ*t a missed call or voice mail enough? What if you were in an important business meeting, and your child needed to reach you, without your phone ringing, just a text. ...

As you might have already guessed, I have read all the books in the Twilight series. And I must say, I loved them! Forget any vampire romance you have ever read before, Twilight is so different, it's like it's in its own genre. Although the book is marketed toward tweens and young adults, it has the ability to cross age barriers and appeals to both teenagers and adults. ...

JOSIE'S ON A VACATION FAR AWAY

Name that tune. It's "Your Love" by the Outfield. You know, "I don't wanna lose your love… tonight". So I thought I would blog about something that I love and that is the EIGHTIES! I was born June 15th, 1979, so I was actually a product of the seventies; however, it's the eighties that I remember. ...
