Sink your teeth into this!

As you might have already guessed, I have read all the books in the Twilight series. And I must say, I loved them! Forget any vampire romance you have ever read before, Twilight is so different, it's like it's in its own genre. Although the book is marketed toward tweens and young adults, it has the ability to cross age barriers and appeals to both teenagers and adults. I know several teenagers that loved the books and then I also know several 50-60 year old women that loved them just as well. I have heard this book described as "a vampire story for people who don't like vampire stories" and I really would have to agree with that. A vampire book normally wouldn't appeal to me, but a friend of mine persuaded me that it was much more than that and I should just give it a try. I read the first book in one night, and finished the entire series within a matter of a few days. It's that good! No, it's not just a book for girls, either. I know several young boys that enjoyed both the books and the movie. I think Twilight has something for everyone, and it's definitely a book that you won't want to end.

So with that said, I definitely recommend this book as a Christmas present for that teenager/young adult/older adult that has everything, and of course, hasn't read the book. Ten dollars for a Christmas gift isn't that bad, if you are exchanging gifts this year (refer to my first blog). I'm trying to keep this blog short because I don't want to give too much away.

One last thing. Read the first book ONLY before you see the movie. I think I would have liked the movie much much more if I would have waited to read the other books after the movie. The movie is based just on the first book, and my expectations were really high for this movie. Although I walked away not as satisfied as I wanted to be, I am still glad I saw the movie, "Twilight". I guess I just have a very wild and vivid imagination, one that Summit Entertainment couldn't quite match!
