Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal and Invest Deal
Posted Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 9:16 AM
Congress seemed to be making progress on a new infrastructure deal when 10 senators created a framework that was approved by the White House. However, a few senators backed away from negotiations when President Joe Biden made comments suggesting he wouldn’t pass the deal without additional legislation. Congressman Rick Crawford of Arkansas’s First District expressed concern that this deal would fall through. “There still has been no finalized deal in the Senate yet.”
The US House did vote on their version of an infrastructure bill just this week. Crawford states that this bill is just more legislation that backs Green New Deal policies. “The INVEST in America Act did pass the House by 221-201.”
