NOT THAT YOU ASKED
NOT THAT YOU ASKED
By JOHN BOXLEY
So you think you've had bad weeks? Hillary Clinton had one this month that has your worst one beat all kinds of ways. It began with an article in Vanity Fair magazine authored by Monica Lewinski, (Her favorite human) and ended with the creation of yet another committee to investigate Benghazi. Let's start with the most famous other woman in American history.
First of all, you have to wonder what compelled Ms. Lewinski to tell her story, yet again. The Starr Report, which is still available at the better porn shops, told us all of the "good stuff" about what she and President Clinton did. Then she gave a prime time interview to Barbara Walters. She followed that up with a book. What in the world is there left for her to tell us?
She basically wanted to cry on our shoulders for what a tough life she's had in the years since the affair became public. She has had some tough breaks, but every time I start to feel sorry for her, I remember that her wounds were all self inflicted.
While it's true that Bill Clinton should have resisted the temptation to cavort with a young woman not much older than his daughter, she went to the White House intending to have sex with him. She bragged about taking her kneepads to the White House, and flashed her thong underwear at Clinton as she was leaving a room.
Most damning of all was what she did with the infamous blue dress with Clinton's DNA on it. Why did she leave it in her closet for a year without having it cleaned? If she had had it cleaned, there wouldn't have been any way for Kenneth Starr to prove that she and Clinton had been intimate. I can't help but believe that, in the end, she wanted the world to know she had sex with Bill Clinton.
So, when it comes to having sympathy for Monica, I just can't do it. After all, you know what they say about payback.
As for Benghazi, again I have to ask, just what are all of these congressmen trying to find out. This will be the eighth investigation into the attack that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, since it happened less than two years ago. They have all shown that security for the embassy was inadequate, but they all also show that when the State Department offered to increase security the idea was rejected by Ambassador Stevens. Blaming Hillary Clinton for what happened makes no sense. That's like blaming the CEO of Walmart if someone comes along and shoots up one of the stores.
What none of these Congressmen seem to care about is finding the people who killed the four Americans. They are more interested in finding out whether the murders were a terrorist attack, or the act of mob frenzy. As then Secretary Clinton testified to Congress, that is not what is most important. What is most important is finding the murderers and bringing them to justice.
Finally, let's all be grownups and admit what this is all really about. Politics. Since the attack happened two months before the election, the first goal of the inquiries was to find something that would hurt Obama's chances for reelection. After he won, the focus turned to trying to damage Hillary Clinton in case she was to run for President in 2016.
The members of Congress who keep pushing for these investigations and their cheerleaders at FOX News might not even care about the four people who died that night. The only thing they care about is how much they hate Hillary Clinton, and how badly they want to put a Republican in the White House.
Do you still think one of your bad weeks was as bad as the one Hillary just went through?
