Not that you asked
This country is so divided right now that there is hardly anything we can agree on. This impeachment debate is no different. Half of the country believes President Trump should be impeached either for Ukraine, obstruction of justice, or just his incompetence. The other half is divided between those who don't care, and those who adore Trump to the point that they think he was born in a manger.
That said, there are two things that I think we can all agree on. One is that Hunter Biden got the job in Ukraine because his daddy was Vice-President at the time. The other is that Lindsey Graham is a pathetic wimp. Let's look at Biden first.
The fact that the son of a sitting Vice-President was offered a great job by anybody should come as no surprise to anybody. The sons and daughters of the rich and or famous have always had opportunities that the rest of us can only dream about. The Ivy League schools are full of students whose families have given large financial gifts to those schools. That's why I don't understand all of the uproar over two actresses did to get their kids in good schools. What they did was no different than what "old money" families have been doing for centuries.
The only thing that is unique about Hunter Biden's job is the fact that so many people are stupid enough to think that his dad had the power to withhold defense money and demand the removal of a prosecutor. To believe that, you would have to believe that the Vice-President actually has any power. He doesn't. The main job of a Vice-President is to call the White House as soon as he wakes up and see if the President is still alive. If the answer is yes, he can go back to sleep.
As for Lindsey Graham, if he weren't so pathetic his over the top defending of President Trump might be more rage inducing. He wants to be a leader, but he just can't pull it off, so he seeks out a real leader and becomes the Robin to his Batman.
When Graham got to the Senate he immediately became John McCain's right hand man. McCain had the power and prestige that every Senator wants. Graham fed off of the excess. In 2016, when McCain was still alive, Graham ran for President. As a candidate he had no trouble pointing out how unfit for the Presidency that Trump was.
Then John McCain died.
Graham needed another strong figure to stand with. For some reason he chose Trump. I say that because Donald Trump is not a strong man, he just does a good imitation of one. He also has none of the class, dignity, or character of John McCain. I guess a pale imitation was enough for Graham.
So Graham swallowed what little pride he had and became Trump's chief defender in the Senate. How he pulls it off with a straight face amazes me. He went from John McCain, who disdained Trump and opposed him, to becoming Trump's loyal soldier. Harry Truman was right when he said, "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog."
So there you have it. We may not be able to agree on anything but two things. One is that Hunter Biden got a job because his father was Vice-President, and Lindsey Graham is a classic wimp.
