    Six local players were named all-state in baseball and softball following their seasons. In baseball, Brody McCrary and Blake Daniels of Marked Tree were named in Class 2A as Taylor Layne and Nolan Smith of Bay were named to Class 1A team. In softball, Marked Tree's Kelsey Pitts was named to Class 2A team and Keely Edwards of Harrisburg was named to the Class 3A squad...
  • All-Star baseball teams split doubleheader (High School Sports ~ 06/30/14)
    The high school all-star baseball teams split their twin bill this past Tuesday at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. The East squad won the opener 5-4 before the West squad held on for a 7-6 win in the nightcap. Brody McCrary of Marked Tree, playing for the East squad, didn't collect a hit in his combined three at bats in the games but did have an assist from his right field position. McCrary didn't see any time on the mound in either game...
