The Delta 7 year-old Machine Pitch All-Stars won the district title this past weekend in Jonesboro. Delta lost their opening game to the Jonesboro 7's 6-4 before coming back to beat the Paragould 7's 7-6 to finish 1-1 in pool play. Delta downed the Blytheville 7's 10-7 before avenging their earlier loss to the Jonesboro 7's with a 9-8 win. The championship game saw Delta beat NEA Central 10-5 to win the title...

The West all-stars held on for a 23-14 win over the East all-stars in the Arkansas High School All-Star football game this past Friday in Conway. Byron Scales of EPC made the most of his time on defense. Scales intercepted a pass that led to a touchdown and recorded five tackles from his outside linebacker spot...
All-Star baseball teams split doubleheader (06/30/14)
The high school all-star baseball teams split their twin bill this past Tuesday at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. The East squad won the opener 5-4 before the West squad held on for a 7-6 win in the nightcap. Brody McCrary of Marked Tree, playing for the East squad, didn't collect a hit in his combined three at bats in the games but did have an assist from his right field position. McCrary didn't see any time on the mound in either game...

Six local players were named all-state in baseball and softball following their seasons. In baseball, Brody McCrary and Blake Daniels of Marked Tree were named in Class 2A as Taylor Layne and Nolan Smith of Bay were named to Class 1A team. The Mountain Dew Grand Slam Classic crowned their champions this past Sunday in Jonesboro. NEA Crush, based out of Trumann, won the 8U machine pitch title. Michelle King was recently name the new volleyball coach for the Trumann School District. This will be King's first head coaching job. King is a graduate of Brookland High School and Arkansas State University. King is a two-time state volleyball champion at Brookland and has helped with the Junior Olympic volleyball program for the last five years...
