Lepanto Museum Board met
On the afternoon of Thursday, May 23, the Museum Board of Directors held a meeting in the Photo Collection Room. Secretary Deetress Neal recorded that the "Panther Room" on the second floor was a popular attraction to all former students and would again be a favorite during the coming Terrapin Derby on October 5 in Lepanto.
Memorial chairman, Virginia Cross, reported three memorials had been made this month to the Museum. She also displayed the Museum Memorial cards and envelopes that are sent to the families from donors.
President JaRue Bradford discussed the latest artifacts donated to the Museum that will soon be on display. The new treasurer, Bobby F. Harris, was presented to the group. New brochures were discussed and Mack Howington and H.C. "Brick" Bradford were appointed to obtain those for Museum-Lepanto USA.
The museum board members are collecting stories from this area for the book, "Stories of Old." This is an ongoing project this year and anyone interested in contributing a story may turn them in to any member of the board. Another section titled "War Stories" has been added to "Stories of Old."
Museum hours are 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. By phone call or appointment on any day. Call one of the board members and they will be happy to accommodate you.
