Marked Tree woman arrested on theft charges
The Marked Tree Police Department made the following major arrest, for the week ending June 14, 2002:
* On June 12, 2002, at around noon, Police Chief Jim Crum and Assistant
Police Chief Chester Ford arrested an employee at a local nursing home, for allegedly stealing a resident's air conditioner. According to Chief Crum, Angelia Townsel, 23, of Marked Tree was arrested and charged with theft by receiving after officers discovered a stolen air conditioner at her residence in Marked Tree. Police report that the air conditioner, valued at $300 was stolen on June 8. Townsel appeared before Marked Tree District Judge Jim Dunlap, during the June 17 session of Marked Tree District Court. Townsel was found guilty and given a $350 fine and cost on the charge.
