Emma Lou Ming
Emma Lou Ming, 56, formerly of Lepanto and Marked Tree, died Aug. 26, 2002 at her home in Jonesboro.
She was a retired teacher of 34 years. She taught at Lepanto, Dyess, Rivercrest and Wilson. She was of the Baptist faith, a former member of the Eastern Star and a devoted teacher. She was active in caring and giving to charities.
She was preceded in death by her father R. M. "Buddy" Ming, her mother Dicksie Louise Helms Ming and two brothers, Jack and Jimmy Ming.
She is survived by a sister, Sarah Payne of West Memphis; a brother, Jerry Ming of Marked Tree; one niece, Jennifer Adams of Northfield, Ill.; four nephews, James Ming of Southaven, Miss., Kevin Ming of Paragould and Jason and Keith Ming, both of Jonesboro. She was also survived by Lois Watson of Black Rock, a lifelong friend and caregiver along with many other wonderful friends.
The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Roller Citizens of West Memphis. Services will be at the funeral home chapel at West Memphis with brother David Applegate officiating. Burial will be at the Marked Tree Cemetery. Viewing was held Aug. 28.
Active pallbearers are: Jack Miller, Gary Strickland, Johnny Bell, Phil Wynne, Donnie Robertson and Rick Vermillion. Honorary pallbearers are: Ronald Martin and Pete Bell, Jr.
The family request that memorials in honor of Ming may be made to her favorite charities: Boys Town, Feed the Children and the American Cancer Society.
