Citizens of the Year selection begins

The Tri-City Tribune announces that nominations are now being accepted for the Tyronza and Lepanto Citizens of the Year Awards. These awards are given to people who have made significant contributions to their community during 2002 or through a lifetime of community service.

As in the past, there will be three winners, with one person chosen from each of the three communities that the Tribune serves. The Marked Tree Citizen of the Year will be selected in the spring, and announced at the Marked Tree Chamber of Commerce Banquet, at the request of the Chamber

Only entries submitted on official ballots will be eligible. The ballots are located on pages five and six in this edition. The deadline for entries will be Friday, Dec. 6. Ballots may be brought in to the Tribune office at 15 Elm Street in Marked Tree, or may be mailed to PO Box 490, Marked Tree, AR, 72365.

The announcements of the Tyronza and Lepanto Citizens of the Year will be at their respective Christmas Parades. The Lepanto Community Christmas Parade will be on Saturday, Dec. 14. The date of the Tyronza Christmas Parade will be announced at a later date.
