Jimmy Norman Linton, Sr., 51, of Lepanto died Monday, December 4, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola.

Linton, a retired captain for the Arkansas Department of Corrections, was a member of the Church of God and President of the Disabled Hunters Association of Jonesboro. Linton is survived by his wife, Catherine Linton of Lepanto; a son, David Dover of Lepanto and two sisters, Marilyn Geren of Pleasant Hills, Cal. and Janice Linton of Monette. Linton was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Norman Linton, Jr. and one brother, Johnny Linton.

Funeral services were held last Friday at the Murphy Funeral Home Chapel in Lepanto, with Bro. Sylvester Brannon officiating. Burial followed at Potter Cemetery, with Steve Pounders, Earnie Girdley, Joe Girdley, Jeff Vaughn, Slug Vaughn, Buddy Tyler and Tony Bowman serving as pallbearers. Murphy Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
