Leroy Clay McCargo
Leroy Clay McCargo, 76, of Osceola died Dec. 17, 2002, at the Baptist Hospital in Osceola.
He was born June 18, 1926 in Memphis. He was retired from the State of Illinois Department of Employment. He served as a man power representative for the U.S. Army and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Holy Church of Christ in Osceola.
He is survived by his wife, Pastor Katie McCargo of Osceola; three sons, Minister Bert McCargo of West Memphis and the Rev. Bornie McCargo and Leroy McCargo, Jr. of Terre Haute, Ind.; three daughters, Meagan Coleman of Upper Marlboro, Md., Gloria Jenkins of Osceola and Kathleen McCargo of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Catherine Collins of Osceola; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, Dec. 22 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Osceola. Minister James Williams and Elder Paul Sorrell officiated the ceremony. Place of burial was at the V.A. Cemetery in Memphis. Active pallbearers were family. Visitation was held.
