Barnes, Jones provide different roles for Indians

Most sports fans know that in order for a team to be successful and win championships, the team must have leaders that influence their teammates, both on and off the court. And the Marked Tree Indians have two such leaders. Duanaway Barnes and Brad Jones, both members of the Barbara Wilburn-coached Sr. Boys basketball team at Marked Tree have provided that leadership in an up-and-down year that has seen the Indians both win and lose close games all year. This year, Marked Tree has won close games against Manila, BIC and Parkin, yet has lost close games against Rivercrest, Earle and Turrell. However, the Indians enter this week's 3AA-South District Tournament at Cross County, needing to pick up a win to reach the Regionals at Marmaduke next week.
