Graves retires from MTPD

Friday, March 7, 2003

Thomas Graves retired last Friday from the Marked Tree Police Department with 18 years of service. He was honored with a surprise party at City Hall. The party was organized by Graves' co-workers with surprise guests including his brother, Bill, and his sister-in-law, Peggy, from San Antonio, Texas, his daughter, Linda, and grandson, Charlie, from Memphis, and Graves' wife, Joyce.

"Oldies but Goodies" music was played during the party, including "Hit the Road Jack" and "Take This Job and Shove It." A buffet with a variety of foods and desserts was provided. Graves was given many gifts.

"Tom will be missed. He was a model employee. We would like to express best wishes on his retirement," said one city employee.
