Eul James Griffin

Eul James "Shorty" Griifin, 84, of Payneway, died on Monday, March 31, 2003 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born on October 1, 1918 in Bethesda, Ark., Griffin was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ and worked for Singer after retiring from farming. He played semi-pro baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Mae Griffin of the home; one daughter, Pam Crowe of Tulot; four sons, Wade Griffin of Double Oak, Texas, Don Griffin of Tustin, Calif., Eddie Griffin of Allen, Texas, Hubert Griffin of Allen, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Jackson of Michigan City, Ind.; one brother, Jessie Lee Griffin of Michigan City, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Broadway Church of Christ with Homer Lloyd officiating. Interment followed at the Marked Tree Cemetery.

Murphy Funeral Home, Marked Tree, had charge of the arrangements.
