Erma Dean Baker
Erma Dean Baker, 46, of Luxora, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
She was born July 26, 1956 in Luxora to Allen Walters and Hattie Rhines. She was a factory worker, a member of New Salem M.B. Church in Luxora, church choir member, and Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Walters.
Survivors include her father, Allen Walters of Luxora; one step-son, John Baker Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; eight sisters, Bobbie Pugh, Dorothy Johnson, Mae Wimbley, Mable Garrett, and Judy Jacobs all of Luxora, Becky Whaley of Burdette, Patricia Ramsey of Osceola, and Martha Webbs of Chicago. Ill.; eight brothers, Jimmie Rufus and Allen Walters Jr. of Chicago, Ill., Clarence Walters of Jacksonville, Ark., Curtis Walters of Luxora, Lenell Walters of Marion, David Walters of Osceola, Charles Walters and Kenny Jones of Osceola.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 19 at 4 p.m. at New Salem M.B. Church in Luxora with Rev. McArthur Hampton officiating. Burial followed at the Luxora Cemetery. Pallbearers were friends and family.
