Historical Society and Museum honor veterans at luncheon
The Marked Tree Historical Society's annual spring luncheon in collaboration with the Marked Tree Delta Area Museum, honors the area's military veterans at 12 noon on Saturday, May 10.
Joan Thompson, wife of Colonel Billy Thompson (ret.) is chairperson of the luncheon event. Following the luncheon, the Marked Tree Delta Area Museum will open its new exhibit titled, "Remembering our Veterans: On Land, Sea and in the Air."
Included in the military exhibit is a collection of propaganda documents used by the United States military and the North Koreans during the Korean Conflict and loaned to the museum by a former member of the USA's Department of Pyschological Warfare team. This military exhibit will remain open through October.
