Crowley's Ridge Development Council's energy assistance program is continuing to accept applications from qualified customers for utility payment assistance funds at its offices throughout the eight-county service area.
Through the Crisis Intervention Home Energy Assistance Program (commonly referred to as LIHEAP) services, qualified applicants may receive help in paying the high utility bills that come with the seasonal temperatures of winter and summer. All applicants will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Due to the large numbers of applicants received at sites throughout the CRDC service area, waits may be required of some.
To qualify for LIHEAP assistance, applicants must --
1. Apply for assistance within their county of residence;
2. Provide proof of all household income for the previous month to include any monies coming into the household from salaries or earnings, child support, TEA/SSA/SSI benefits, unemployment or retirement benefits, part-time jobs, temporary, employment, etc.;
3. Provide Social Security numbers for all members of the household;
4. Provide a copy of the utility SHUT OFF NOTICE for which assistance is sought.
Applications will be taken from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays ONLY at each of the eight CRDC Family Service Centers serving Northeast Arkansas.
