Edwina Argo

Edwina Argo, 92, of Lepanto, died on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A member of the Lepanto First United Methodist Church, DAR, Eastern Star and the Lepanto Garden Club, she and her husband owned and operated Jones Drug Store in Lepanto for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Read Argo, Sr., her parents, Dr. J.H. Jones and Lou Ella Jones and one brother.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard Argo, Jr. of Lepanto, and Hayden Argo of Mountain Home, Ark.; three daughters, Terry Jean Eason of Jonesboro, Bessie Lou Johnson of Jonesboro and Madeline Horne of Lepanto; 13grandchildren, Donna Wallace, Carla Fisher, Laura Eason, Suzanne Eason, Kathy Lancaster, Mark Johnson, Sherry Bryan, Brandon Argo, Dirk Argo, Stephanie Sasteen, Rachel Griggs, Brenna Horne and Hayden Argo, Jr.; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today, Thursday, August 14 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Murphy Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Sparks officiating. Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery with Hayden Argo, Jr., Brandon Argo, Dirk Argo, T.W. Culpepper, Nick Culpepper and Eason Dearen serving as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lepanto or charity of the donor's choice.
