George Lewis Faris

George Lewis Faris, 91, of Blytheville, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Blytheville.

Born May 16, 1912 in Weston, West Virginia, Faris was a furniture maker and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include five daughters, Eleanor Taylor of Utica, Mich., Patricia Beverly of Blytheville, Ruth Gaines of Clarksburg, W. Va., Catherine Pumphrey of Huntington, W. Va., and Barbara Costilow of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Thomas Russell Faris of Webb City; three sisters, Betty Doughtery of Cowarts, Ala., Eleanor Martin of Canton, Ohio; Wilma Bleach of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Faris of Dothen, Ala., James Faris of Atco, N.J.; one special Bernadine Weixelman; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Madeline Faris and parents, Charles Wesley Faris and Orpha (Carpenter) Faris.

Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville had charge of the cremation arrangements per George Lewis Faris' request.
