Alvin H. Terrell

Alvin H. Terrell, 90, of Payneway died Thursday, Jan. 15, at his home. He was a farmer, a Mason and member and song leader at the Corner Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Alvin H. Terrell Jr. of Rockford, Ill., and Ronnie Shempert of Payneway; one daughter, Teresa Shempert of Jonesboro; a brother, Ralph Terrell of Wardell, Mo.; and a grandson, Joey Terrell of Rockford.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Terrell, and a daughter, Jo Ann Carter.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan 18 in the chapel of Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, with Ed Fiszer officiating. Burial was in the Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto.

Pallbearers were Jerry Wood, Glenn Gillis, Jay Paul Woods, Darrell Hardin, Ewel Watson, Ray Cook, Ronnie Terrell and Don Terrell.

Memorials may be made to the Corner Chapel Baptist Church or the Liberty Baptist Church, both at Payneway.
