John Franklin Elrod Sr

John Franklin Elrod Sr., 71, of Marked Tree died Thursday, Feb. 5, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola.

He was a chef and a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Trenthem of Horn Lake, Miss.; three sons, John Elrod Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Ronnie Hillegas and John Hillegas, both of Bassett; one sister, Billie Arechiga of Dallas; three brothers, Hobson Elrod Jr. and David Elrod, both of Bassett, and Lindey Elrod of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb 8 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola, with the Rev. Edwards L. James officiating. Burial followed in Mississippi Memorial Gardens at Osceola.
