The Marked Tree Police Department announced Monday the arrest of two area men, on separate criminal charges. According to Police Chief Jim Crum, last Saturday at around 3:15 p.m., the Marked Tree Police Department arrested Brandon McCullar, 19, of Tyronza on drug-related charges, stemming from a traffic stop in the city limits. The MTPD told the Tri-City Tribune that having knowledge that McCullar's driver's license was suspended, McCullar was arrested and charged with Driving on a Suspended Driver's License. A subsequent search of the vehicle, according to the MTPD, netted a plastic bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana, a smaller bag containing a white powder believed to be crystal methamphetamine, along with several items of drug paraphernalia. The MTPD also states that a BB pistol was located on the right side of the driver's seat of the vehicle.
