Wednesday, July 21, 2004

The Marked Tree Police Department announced Monday the arrest of a Marked Tree man on felony charges, stemming from an incident at a local park. According to Det. Mark Robinson of the Marked Tree Police Department, last Sunday at around 8:30 p.m., Off. Jackie Ragan was on patrol when he received a message that the police were needed at Carver Park, because there was a man with a gun there. When Off. Ragan arrived, the MTPD stated that a witness stated Gregory Deon Tribble, 23, of Marked Tree had the gun. Other witnesses told police that Tribble returned to the park after having an argument with another person at the park. The MTPD states that Tribble threatened to shoot the person, but was stopped by others at the park. After an investigation, Tribble was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Aggravated Assault, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Terroristic Threatening. Tribble appeared before Marked Tree District Court Judge Jim Dunlap for a probable cause hearing Monday. Probable cause was found and bond was set at $25,000.
