Saturday at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Harrisburg.
Glissen died Oct. 13 at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg. Born in
Tipper County, Miss., Glissen had lived in Harrisburg since 1966 and
formerly lived in Marked Tree. She and her husband operated Glissen's
Service Station until 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church in
Harrisburg and in 1994, she and her husband built the Glissen Family Life
Center to the church. She was a member of the Crowley's Ridge No. 625
Eastern Star and was a past president of the Elm Chapter in Marked Tree and
past grand representative of Kansas in Arkansas.
The Rev. Jerry Kausler, Rev. Captain Lovell and John Lindsey officiated the
service, which was an Eastern Star service. Burial followed in Harrisburg
Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Weston Funeral Service of
Harrisburg.
She is survived by her husband, Orville Glissen. Pallbearers for the service
were Greg Crouch, Whitt Walls, Michael Hamrick, Joe Hamrick, James Glissen,
Bobby Austin and Jim Tom Butler. Honorary pallbearers include Gene Crouch,
Barry Walls, Melvin Kieffer, Charlie Gardner, J.S. Walls, Steve Eatin,
Charles Johns, Harrison Johns, James Williams, Marcus Mars, Bill Stanley,
James Wilson, Wilburn Comstock and Frankie Cole. Visitation was held at the
Family Life Center.
