Verlyn Evelyn Carpenter

Verlyn Evelyn Carpenter, 91, of Marion died Saturday, Oct. 30, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital at West Memphis.

She was formerly of Lepanto and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Nelson of Marion; one sister, Lois Carpenter of Millington, Tenn.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Carpenter Sr.; a son, George Carpenter Jr.; and one daughter, Melba Carpenter.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto with Doyle Carpenter officiating. Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto handled the arrangements.

Pallbearers included Hal Nelson, John Moore, Scott Carpenter, Stan Carpenter, Lee Moore and Miller Moore.
