Mary Evelyn Sparks, 78, of Parkin died Saturday, July 30, at her home.

Born at Springfield, Ohio, she was a nurse's aid and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include six daughters: Cindy Edwards of Parkin, Ella Mae Taylor of Georgia, Nancy Smith of Wiona, Barbara Cantwell and Reatha Sparks, both of Marked Tree, and Debra Clayton of Harrisburg; seven sons: Larry Tesch of Kansas, James Butcher Jr. of Michigan, William Jacob Butcher, Harry Butcher and Theodore Butcher, all of Florida, Robert Sparks of Marked Tree, and Jimmy Sparks of Wiona; 56 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza with Bro. Dave officiating. Burial followed in Monette Cemetery.
