James William Hand

James William Hand, 78, of Marked Tree died Saturday, April 1 at his residence in Marked Tree.

He was a safety engineer for General Motors for 32 years, a member of the Central Baptist Church, a member of Elks Lodge in Michigan and an Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Mary Hand, and one sister, Clovis Irene Cantrell.

Survivors include his wife Clara Wilson Hand of Marked Tree; one son, William David Hand of Marked Tree and two grandsons, Brian David and Scott John Hand, both of Clinton Township, Mich.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4 at Central Baptist Church with Chad Stoddard officiating.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Blain, Dewayne Cantrell, Lyman Cantrell, Mike Cantrell Jason, Wilson, Kenny Wilson and Bill Stanley.

Burial followed at Tyronza Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home in charge.
