He a member of the Marked Tree Fire Department and served with the 875th Engineer Battalion of the National Guard. He attended the Sneed Street Baptist Church and served three years in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Black Wortham, and one sister, Peggy Boyles.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Wortham of Marked Tree ; one daughter, Victoria Hitchcock of Brookland; his father, Frank Wortham of Jonesboro; four sisters: Patty Hamick, Jeanette Blackshear of Jonesboro, Judy Keena of Hot Springs and Linda Godby of Pendleton, Ind.; one brother; Paul Wortham of Jonesboro and one granddaughter, Alexis Hitchcock.
Services were held Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree with Ron Lovins officiating.
Military personal served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Smith, Tim Malone, Donnie Pippinger and Jason Webb.
Burial followed at Marked Tree Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home in charge.
