Formerly of Marked Tree, He was born April 10, 1931 in Lepanto. He retired from Mid-South Manufacturing Co. after 27 years as a quality control inspector.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Foster of 44 years; his mother and father, John Wesley and Grace W. Foster; and two brothers, Herman and James "Pee-Wee" Foster.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Mcilrath; five stepchildren, Carl "Corky" Haynes, Gene Haynes, Donald Haynes, Jo Ann Vick, Diane Doringer; three nephews, Douglas Foster, Doyle Foster and Paul Foster; four nieces, Darlene Cannon, Sharon Foster, Janet Foster and Kathy Foster; 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree with Rev. Jo Ann Counts officiating. Burial followed in Marked Tree Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Gene Haynes, Doug Foster, Doyle Foster, Doug Dawson, Eric Dawson and Cory Thran.
