OBIT - Nella Rue Watts

Nella Rue Watts, 81, died August 16, 2007 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law after an extended illness. Watts was a dedicated housewife who married Douglas Charles Watts on April 11, 1943, in Mississippi. They moved to Arkansas after Douglas returned from his overseas military service and finally settled in Memphis in 1953. Douglas passed away on April 7, 2007. Watts was a faithful member of the Bellevue Baptist Church and choir, she also worked in the church nursery during the Women's Ministry and Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by four of their five children, Sandra Petech (George) of Olive Branch; Linell Imming (John) of Brandon, Fla., Deborah Smith (Charles) of Hernando and Larry Watts; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Watts.

Special thanks to Sharon Fairburn, R.N. and the staff from Unity Hospice.

Funeral services were at Hernando Funeral Home, officiated by Sonny Tucker of Bellevue, Saturday, August 18. She was buried next to her husband in Memphis Memory Gardens. The family has asked that any memorials be made to Unity Hospice Care of Southaven.
