Born in Flippin, Vowell lived in Lepanto, Rivervale and Caraway before moving to Paragould 20 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Paragould.
Vowell was preceded in death by her husband, O. Edgar Vowell; by two sons, Marlon Vowell and Verlon Vowell; by her parents, Alfred and Lucille Coy Rose; by one grandchild; and three great grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Mason of Rector, Wanda Vowell of Paragould and Marilyn Thomas of Jonesboro; seven sons, Bobby Wortham of Brookland, Lloyd Vowell of Lexington, Tenn., Floyd Vowell and Byron Vowell, both of Trumann, Owen Vowell of Marked Tree, Carlos Vowell of Alexandria and Thomas Vowell of Edwardsville, Ill.; two sisters, Leota Perrin of Jonesboro and Elizabeth Roach of Lepanto; 14 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 20 in Emerson Memorial Chapel at Jonesboro with the Rev. Dennis Scudder officiating. Burial followed in Purcell Cemetery near Marmaduke.
Pallbearers included Anthony Timms, Calvin Fletcher, Jimmy Rose, Raymond Miller, Jerry Gray, David Wortham and Justin Wortham.
