Evelyn Ann Portis

Evelyn Ann Portis, 87, died Monday, Nov. 5, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Portis of Lepanto; and son, Clay Portis of Memphis; and her parents, Ernest and Anne Burton of Marked Tree.

She is survived by her two children, Ann Burton Portis of Osceola and Ernest Portis (Diana) of West Memphis; and her grandchildren, Wesley Portis Wells (Rob) of West Memphis, Clayton Portis Allen (Lee) of Dallas and Bradsher Portis of Memphis; and her great-granddaughter, Ellie James Allen of Dallas.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 7, at United Methodist Church in Lepanto, with visitation proceeding there from 12:30-1:30.

Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto is in charge of arrangements.
