William Cloys Maddox

William Cloys Maddox, 64, of Lepanto died Dec. 21, 2007 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born June 10, 1943, in Gideon, Mo. to Carlisle Maddox and Maybell White. He was a truck driver for 45 years and a member of the Etowah Pentecostal Church of God.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Maddox of Lepanto; one son, William Lee Maddox and daughter-in-law Melinda Maddox of Lepanto; four daughters: Amanda Maddox, Jennifer Maddox, Christy Maddox and Samantha Maddox, all of Lepanto; three sisters: Mary Nell Edge of Malden, Mol, Barbara Pilgrim of Osceola and Katherine Mason of Lepanto; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Maddox and Junior Maddox; two sisters, Billie Ruth Maddox and Nelda Jane Foster; and one grandson, Jacob Lee Maddox.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 23 at Etowah Pentecostal Church of God with Bro. Huey Meherg officiating. Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Gene Collins, Jerry Collins, Bobby Collins, Ricky Collins, Ricky D. Collins, Wesley Yancy, Charles Tyler, Jr. and Larry Portenberry.

Honorary pallbearers were Sunny "Desperado" Freeman, Charles "Plowboy" Tyler, Larry "Brylcream" Williams, Eric McGhee and Ricky Pilgrim.
