Velma Baker Snell

Velma Baker Snell, a resident of Harrisburg, died March 20, 2008, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 68.

She was born April 7, 1939 at Calico Rock, the daughter of Kirby Henry Ball and Ella Mae Brown Hogan. She married Thomas Snell on June 27, 1980.

Snell was a member of the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Harrisburg. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her animals, crafts and spending time with family and friends.

Snell was preceded in death by her parents; Kirby Henry Ball and Ella Mae Hooper and one sister, Verlene Wilson.

Snell is survived by her husband, Thomas Snell of the home; two sons, Allan Baker of Harrisburg, David Baker of Jonesboro; two daughters, Sharon Kirby of Paragould, Claudette Jennings of North Little Rock; one step-daughter, Sharon Collins of Marion; one brother, Johnny Clements of Bay Village; three sisters, Barbara Pierce, Priscilla Rhoads, both of Bay Village, Kay Wilson of Hickory Ridge; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Harrisburg with Bro. Bill Leinenweaver officiating.
