George Henry Lane, 79, of Brookland, died Wednesday evening at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
He was born in Evening Shade and had lived in Brookland for 28 years and had formerly lived in Trumann. He was a plumber and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Brookland Church of Chirst, the American Legion and the VFW. He was preceded in death y his wife, Jacequeline B. Lane and a son, Gerald Henry Lane.
Survivors include one son, Walter E. Lane of Jonesboro; one daughter, Jackie Townsend of Brookland, one sister, Pauline Williams of Newport; 10 grandchildren and 11 great0grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Brookland Church of Christ, with Victor Eskew officiating. Burial followed in the Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Nephews and close friends served as pallbearers.
