POUNDS LEAVES LEGACY IN TRUMANN

A Trumann woman died Friday, leaving a legacy of service to the Trumann community. Mrs. June Elizabeth Pounds, 80, died Friday night at the Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro of natural causes. Mrs. Pounds, a lifelong resident of Trumann, was an accounting clerk and insurance clerk for the Singer Company in Trumann until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Trumann having been active in working with the youth of the church and other aspects of the church. This led to local, district, and state positions along with Sunday School teaching. She was a former officer of the Trumann Fine Arts Council; member of the 20th Century Club and the Trumann School Alumni Association.
