Wednesday, April 10, 2002

Trumann Public Schools has approximately 1,685 students in attendance for the 2002-2003 school year. This is a decrease from previous years. The school employs 131 certified personnel. Superintendent Joe Waleszonia stated that a goal of the school is, "better attendance and better test scores." He also stated that he is not unhappy with the test scores, that Trumann Schools is on par with all the area schools. He feels that if the school graduates productive people into society then the teachers have done a good job. Trumann can count many doctors, lawyers and other professionals among its graduates. The mission statement for the school is, "Trumann Schools will provide equitable, quality education for all students so that they may attain their ultimate potential."
