Bay baseball team seeded second

Weiner defeated Bay 5-4 April 9 in baseball action.

Brett Hogan took the loss on the mound. Bay scored two runs in the first and two runs in the fourth. At the plate he had two hits.

Weiner scored a run in the third, two runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.

Marked Tree defeated Bay 9-7 April 10. Marked Tree scored three runs in the seventh to overtake Bay.

Bay scored five runs in the second and two in the fifth.

Marked Tree scored three runs in the first, two in the third, one in the fifth and three in the sixth inning.

For Bay, Bart Hogan took the loss on the mound.

Sye Barnett and Brett Hogan each had two hits. Derek McMasters hit a home run.

Bay defeated Cross County 3-1 at the field of Cross County April 11.

The Yellowjackets' runs came in the first, fifth and seventh innings.

For Bay, Michael Nix had three hits and scored two runs. Barnett had three hits and one RBI. Brett Hogan hit a double and brought in two runners. Ryan Prince had two hits and scored one run.

Davey Webb took the win on the mound going all seven innings. He struck out seven and gave up four hits.

The Yellowjackets are 8-7 overall. They are 2-2 in the 3AA-South District.

In the district tournament, No. 1 Riverside will play No. 4 Cross County at 5:30 p.m. on April 22. No. 2 Bay will play No. 3 Marked Tree at 3 p.m. April 22. The winners will then play at 5:30 p.m. April 23. A consolation game will be played at 3 p.m. April 23.
