Bay awards students at ceremony

Bay hosted its awards ceremony May 7 at the high school gym.

In science, Tabitha Bogard received the biology award, Bethany Lowery received the life science award and Drew Curtis received the earth science award. Garrett Bollinger received the junior high health award and Daine Bennett received the ninth-grade health award. Terra Gibson received the physics award, Sarah Buck received the chemistry award, Emily McDaniel received the physical science award and Michael Moon received the environmental science award.

Destiny Grace received the library award. Ashley McPherson, Justin Pruitt, Jessica Moreno, Heather Banks and Brittney Lam received awards for top accelerated readers.

For math, Danyell McMeans received an award for investigative geometry. Terra Gibson received an award for advanced math. Bethany Lowery received an award for seventh-grade mathematics. Tabitha Bogard received an award for geometry. Sarah Buck and Brandon Mink each received an award for Algebra II. Rachel Lynn received an award for Algebra I. Daniel Flood received an award for Integrated Algebra A and Bryan Sims received an award for Integrated Algebra B. Drew Curtis received an award for eighth-grade mathematics.

For the fine arts, Bethany Lowery received an award for seventh-grade junior choir. Jessica Jennings received an award for eighth-grade junior choir. Rebecca Lockett received the senior choir Overall award. Daniel Pagan received the senior choir Senior award. Justin Hager and Bridgette Barnes received awards for seventh-grade general music. Julianna Watkins received the eighth-grade general music award. Tanner Thomas received an award for beginning band. Daniel Singleton received an award for high school band. Shamika Harris received an award for Art I. Bethany Brock received an award for Art II. Sara Williams received the seventh-grade art award and Raquel Torres received the eighth-grade art award.

In English, Bethany Lowery received the seventh-grade award and Raquel Torres received the eighth-grade award. Andrew Watkins received the English IV award. Sarah Buck received the English III award. Rachel Doyle received the journalism award. Brandon Mink received the Spanish I award and Sarah Buck received the Spanish II award. Emily McDaniel received the ninth-grade English award and Tabitha Bogard received the 10th-grade English award.

For Social Studies, Andrew Watkins received awards for world history and American history. Brandon Mink received an award for world geography. Rachel Lynn received an award for civics. Emily McDaniel received the Arkansas history award. For seventh-grade geography, Justin Hager received an award and Drew Curtis received an award for eighth-grade American history.

For the practical arts, Tyler McDaniel received awards for plant science and animal science. Brett Hogan received the environmental resources award. Michael Nix received an award for horticulture. Robbie Spencer received an award for agriculture mechanics. Cameron Campbell received awards for leadership and agricultural biology. Daine Bennett received an award for agricultural science and technology. Blake Ferguson received an award for agricultural power and machinery. Tyler Bailey received an award for agricultural metals.

Katie Reece received the family dynamics award. Ashley Shoemaker received an award for child development. Cristin Mills received the parenting award. Emily McDaniel received an award for family and consumer science. Taffy Rogers received an award for food and nutrition. Sarah Buck received an award for food science. Holly Jones received an award for workplace readiness. Karri Cope received the housing and interior award. Sara Williams received an award for family and work connections.

Ashton McFarland received an award for keyboard applications. Tabitha Bogard received an award for Word Processing I and II. Brandon Mink received the computerized business applications award. Sarah Buck received an award for Desktop Publishing I and II. Drew Curtis received an award for introduction to computers. Jeremy Houston received an award for seventh-grade keyboarding. Josh Mink received the yearbook award.

For junior high quiz bowl, Drew Curtis and Ashton McFarland were named to the all-tournament team.

Ashley Ballew and Matthew Gaynor received perfect attendance awards.

Receiving Scholastic Achievement Awards Letter "B" were: Bethany Lowery, Tyler C. Griffin, Bart Hogan, Daniel Presley, Bridgette Barnes, Gary Wrinkle, Amy Ballew, Andrew Watkins, Sara Williams, Chad Thompson, Jessica McMasters, Aaron Winningham, Daine Bennett and Rebecca Lockett.

Receiving Scholastic Achievement Award pins were: Drew Curtis, Samantha Carter, Lee Davis, Jodi Pratt, Brandon Mink, Ryan Prince, Gina Bogard, Julianna Watkins, Rachel Lynn, Amber McMasters, Ashley Shoemaker, Cameron Campbell, Sarah Scott, Tyler McDaniel, Raquel Torres, Emily McDaniel, Tabitha Bogard, Casie Davison, Kenny Fields, Rachel Doyle, Daniel Singleton, Jessica Jennings, Ashton McFarland, Brett Hogan, Sarah Buck, Lindsey Wileman, Terra Gibson and Cristin Mills.

Terra Gibson and Andrew Watkins received Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete awards. Tabitha Bogard received an award for HOBY Arkansas Leadership Conference. Casie Davison received an award for the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference.

The University Rotary Club recognized seniors Terra Gibson, Daniel Singleton, Laura Gammill and Tyler McDaniel.

Terra Gibson, Tyler McDaniel, Gina Bogard and Daniel Singleton each received Arkansas Scholar awards.

Matt Harmon and Whitney Champlin each received spelling bee awards.

Andrew Watkins received the Ray A. Kroc Youth Achievement Award.
