MidSouth Bank extends lease, Bay council learns

At the Bay City Council meeting on May 13, Mayor Linda Watts reported that MidSouth Bank has decided to extend its lease to three years at 306 Elder. The bank will pay $400 a month for the lease over the next three years.

The city has received a check for $1,666 from Craighead County to be used for improvements to the senior citizens building.

The city has discussed with Craighead Electric installing additional street lights.

A leaf vacuum has been loaned to the city by the Solid Waste Authority to clean up after the hail storm. Hail damage was estimated at $54,550.51.

An ordinance accepting certain lands annexed to the city of Bay as emergency areas was passed by the council.

Street work for 2002 was discussed. The council decided to get estimates on all street work and then determine what work on the streets needed to be done.
