Relay for Life slated April 26

Wednesday, April 9, 2003

This year will mark the third year that Trumann has hosted the Relay for Life. Money raised from the event will go towards cancer research.

Teams of eight to 15 members are organized to walk in the event. It will take place April 26 and 27. It will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 25, and end at 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 26. It will take place on the walking track behind Cedar Park Elementary. Donations are based on participation not the number of miles or laps walked.

This year's event will feature a Luminary Ceremony which will honor all those touched by cancer. The Luminaries are sacks filled with sand holding a candle.

Entertainment is slated for the event and food will be served.

For more information about the event, contact Suzanne Sloan, branch manager for Trumann Regions Bank or Tamara Jones.
