Diane Wallace of Trumann wanted to do something to keep busy and to help other families that have a loved one away in the military. She knows full well what they are going through, as her husband, Bill Wallace was called up from Army National Guard

So Diane and a cousin, Peggy, started making the blue star banners for any one that has a family member in service. Anyone can purchase these banners by calling Diane at 483-1028. The cost is a donation of $5 to go to the American Legion and a picture (if available) of the service person, which will be in the Trumann Democrat's Memorial Day Special edition.

A special note of thanks to Betty Carter, owner of Carters Flower Shop in Trumann for the beautiful yellow bow that was placed on the Veterans Monument, located at Main St. and Hwy 463. Many thanks Betty. Let her and others know that you appreciate their support for our courageous men and women in service while we enjoy our freedom here in this wonderful country.
