Clarence Darrell Reese and two of his daughters, Pam Chipman and Polli Bibbs and his son-in-law, Joey Chipman, recently attended Reese's 65th Signal Battalion Reunion in Ownesboro, Kentucky.
Reese served in the "A" Company of the 65th Battalion during World War II.
"A" Company was a construction company that put up high line equipment for communications. He joined the U.S. Army in March of 1943, was sent to Europe and 1944 and served in Italy, England, France and Germany.
Reese returned to Trumann after three years of service. Six other "A" Company members, four "B" Company members and 16 "C" Company members also attended the reunion.
Next year's 65th Battalion is planning a reunion in Branson, Mo.

Our father, Robert Vass deceased 1984 - was a member of 65th - he would tell us very little and we are attempting to find the route the battalion took and where it was in WWII. He was a clerk/photographer and had many photos of a prisoner of war camp liberated by 65th - which one? we do not know - photos were lost many years ago.
